Any person desiring to engage in the business of peddling, hawking, canvassing or house-to-house selling in the village shall first apply to the village in writing, stating the applicant's name and address and the nature of the business to be engaged in, and such other information as shall be desired, and shall furnish bond in the sum as set in the license with sufficient sureties to be approved by the village council, running to any or all damages sustained by reason of the applicant engaging in such business in the village.
